MacKenzie and MacKenzie is a law firm built to serve its clients. We aim to establish long term lawyer-client relationships where we shoulder the burden of our client's ongoing legal concerns. Formerly McKechnie, Jurgeit and MacKenzie, our firm has been operating in the Etobicoke area for over 30 years and has established a reputation for professionalism and integrity in both the legal community and among its clients.
The founding partner, Jerald W. MacKenzie, graduated from Dalhousie School of Law in 1976 and was called to the Bar in 1978. Following his call to the bar Jerald was employed with Thompson, Tooze, Mclean in downtown Toronto, where he remained for five years before moving in to private practice. Jerald is well-known and respected by senior counsel and judges across the greater Toronto area, for his direct and results based approach to litigation. Jerald has implemented this approach to litigation and the practice of law at MacKenzie and MacKenzie. Our team of staff and lawyers recognize how crucial it is to spend time with client's to truly understand their needs, and then implement strategies which will effectively produce results.

Jerald W. MacKenzie
Jerald W. MacKenzie received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Dalhousie School of Law in 1976 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1978. He began his career as an associate at one of Toronto’s leading law firms before establishing his practice in Etobicoke in association with McKechnie, Jurgeit and MacKenzie — now known as MacKenzie & MacKenzie Lawyers.
With more than four decades of experience, Jerald has earned a reputation for measured judgment, strategic advocacy, and steady leadership in complex and contested matters. His depth of experience allows him to navigate difficult legal issues with confidence and clarity, guiding clients through challenging circumstances with practical solutions and strong representation.
Jerald has appeared before numerous levels of court throughout Ontario. He is known for his thorough preparation, principled advocacy, and consistent record of achieving favorable outcomes for his clients. Above all, Jerald is committed to providing personal attention and responsive service. JJ D. MacKenzie
JJ MacKenzie received his Juris Doctor from Western University in 2014 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. He regularly appears before all levels of court throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Divisional Court.
JJ has successfully represented clients in complex and high-stakes matters, including complex divorce and property division proceedings, adoption, and contested custody and access disputes. He has acted as trial counsel in both civil and family law proceedings, bringing thorough preparation, strategic advocacy, and practical judgment to every case.
JJ is committed to delivering principled, results-driven representation. He works closely with each client to develop tailored strategies designed to achieve efficient and effective outcomes. Known for his responsiveness and accessibility, JJ ensures his clients’ questions are answered promptly and their concerns addressed with care — whether by phone, email, or in person.
